Elliott joined the Blues on loan from Scunthorpe United in March 2023. A vastly experienced midfielder who has had a hugely successful career to date, Elliott started at Sheffield United, where he captained the U18 side that reached the 2010/11 FA Youth Cup Final – before going on to make five senior appearances for the club. He gained further first team experience on loan at York City and Alfreton Town before signing a permanent deal with Notts County in 2014 and then FC Halifax Town the following year. Whitehouse then moved to Nuneaton Town, notching an impressive 20 goals in 45 National League North appearances, earning him a move to Lincoln City. He went on to make 77 appearances for The Imps, scoring ten goals and helping them win promotion to the Football League, enjoy a memorable FA Cup run and also bagged the decisive goal in their EFL Trophy Final triumph in 2018 at Wembley. The former England C international then spent time at Grimsby Town and Forest Green Rovers, before joining Scunthorpe in the summer following a successful trial period. He has had experience at this level this season also, spending a month on loan at Spennymoor Town.
