REPORT | Chester FC Women 0-3 Stockport County Ladies

Three second half goals from Stockport County saw the Blues defeated in the Quarter Final of the Cheshire Cup on Sunday.

Martin Fizsimons’ side started brightly and almost took the lead on eight minutes when Charlotte Locke, who had scored a stunning goal in the 3-3 draw with Tranmere one week prior, tried again from distance – however her effort hit the crossbar from 40 yards.

Stockport enjoyed most of the ball, but the Blues were able to contain well and went into the break all square.

However the Hatters, who play in a higher division to Chester, took the lead on 50 minutes. Their advantage was then doubled with a quarter of an hour remaining when a spot kick was converted after a handball decision was given against the Seals.

The tie was wrapped up with two minutes to go as Stockport scored a third of the afternoon at Helsby.

CHESTER: Foster, Hollis, Sands, Priest, Quigg, Paul, Lloyd (Adderley 75), Locke (Redman 59), Wright, Wood, Gray.
