NEWS | An update from our Kiosk Operators, Fanz Food!

Carla and Michael of Fanz Food, our Kiosk Operators, are now eight months into their role at the Deva Stadium.

Ahead of sponsoring Saturday’s match against Boston United, Carla had the following message for supporters!

A Hello From Us

It has been nearly eight months since we were invited into the wonderful world of Chester FC to provide you with high quality food and drink, and we can’t believe how fast it has flown by!

We thought now was a good time to properly introduce ourselves. We are Fanz Food and many of you who have attended games this season will recognize our name from the ground where we have several kiosks now offering hot and cold food, drinks, and snacks to supporters of our club (and not forgetting those away fans too).

Fanz Food is run by myself, Carla, and my partner Michael (both pictured below). I have over 16 years of experience in the events catering and hospitality industry, I also have nine years of being a volunteer for victim support, and three years at a local food charity, as I like to give back to others when I can.

Michael, my partner, also has seventeen years of experience as a chef which is a huge benefit. He also runs the local taxi company ABC TAXIS in Chester.

We have both committed so much of our time over the last few months to making sure everything is set up and there are quality offerings for you during matchdays. In the short time we have been at the club we have fallen in love with it and the fans, and we believe strongly in the club motto “Our City, Our Community, Our Club.”

Michael and I are both community focused and like to support the local communities wherever possible, both taking to the streets in the midst of the pandemic to feed and clothe the homeless around Chester and Liverpool City centres. We have continued to do so whilst at the club, supplying local homeless shelters food that would have otherwise gone to waste when our home matches have been cancelled in recent months. At the end of each game, any food that is left we give to the volunteers, stewards and staff, and we make sure that all the ball boys have drinks and snacks at every match too. 

Fanz Food were invited to provide food at the Deva Stadium by the club and with a short turnaround before the season started we had to freshen up the kiosks, get all the equipment and stock in (and recruit some staff too!) to be ready for the first kick-off – and we made it! We are proud to say since we have taken over, all the kiosks have been awarded a 5-Star hygiene rating.

We were asked by the club to provide you the supporters with the best quality food, drink and service possible. We believe that working closely with the club we have been able to do so, by offering you what we know to be the very best quality pies, hotdogs & well known branded drinks and snacks, all served to you by our friendly team of staff, who many of you have come to love over the months for their friendly, helpful service and banter. 

We like to support other local businesses and source the very best pies, baked and delivered freshly every match day, from our good friends Cowards in Frodsham. 

Did you know the profits made from the kiosks are shared with the club for them to reinvest? So, every item you purchase from the kiosk benefits the club!

We continuously strive to improve, and we would like fellow fans of the club to know that if you have any ideas, questions, or feedback about the food and drink offerings, we encourage you to speak to any of our team.  We hope you are enjoying the outcome as much as we are enjoying being a part of this wonderful club.
