REPORT | Warrington Wolves 1-5 Chester FC Women

The Blues won 5-1 for the second successive week, this time back in league action, making it six victories in a row in the process.

Molly Wood was once again in the hat-trick groove, with her second half treble capping off another successful afternoon for the Blues who moved up to fourth in the North West Womens Regional League Division One South.

Martin Fitzsimons named an unchanged starting eleven for the third weekend in succession, and it took until 44 minutes for the breakthrough to arrive. Emma Gray set the ball back for Ash Bullock to fire into the top corner, leaving the ‘keeper with no chance.

Just four minutes after the break, the lead was strengthened. Gray went from provider to scorer, pouncing after Kim Sands had initially struck the crossbar, tapping home from close range.

However just two minutes later Warrington were back in the game, scoring to half the deficit.

Nevertheless though, in form Wood was on a roll once again and sealed the victory with a devastating 14 minute hat-trick.

On 55 minutes, the forward got her first of the afternoon before doubling up on 67 after good build up play from Rach Lloyd and then Ellie Bradley.

And just two minutes after that the icing on the cake, as Bradley again provided the assist with a superb switch for Wood to cap off another successful afternoon for Chester.
