BREAKING | Ollie Heywood pens senior deal with Chester FC!
Chester FC are pleased to announce that Ollie Heywood has signed his first senior deal with the Club!
The Academy Captain, who turned 18 in September, was part of the Under-19’s side that clinched the National League Alliance Cup back in March last year.
Heywood, who is known to be a left-back that can also operate in midfield, has had a spell of men’s football with Runcorn Linnets this term.
Ollie had a taste of senior action with the Blues back in pre-season, taking part in games at Elton Vale, Macclesfield and Clitheroe – with Chester being victorious on all three occasions.
Academy Head Coach Calum McIntyre had this to say: “Ollie is one of the most committed young players I have worked with. His mentality combined with his exceptional ability means he has a real chance of a career in the game.
“He demonstrates behaviours and an attitude that is well beyond his years, and I have no doubt he has an exciting future ahead. I have worked with very few young players who are as committed to their development the way Ollie is and I am really excited to see how he develops.
“This is another success for the Academy and is another reward for those involved as the production line to the first team at Chester FC continues. The appointment of Mike Allcock 18 months ago continues to raise standards and means that Ollie will no doubt be one of a number of players that will continue to come through.
“All at the Academy would like to once again express our thanks to Swettenham Chemists for their incredible support in providing the resources behind the Academy programme.”
