Chester FC defender Kevin Roberts has agreed a new one-year deal, keeping him at the Deva for the 2021/22 season!
The 31-year-old has been a key part of the Blues’ defensive setup since his arrival in the summer of 2019.
Kev scored the winner in what was to be our final home game of the recently curtailed season against Guiseley back in January, and then chalked up his 50th appearance for the reformed club in the following match at Bradford (PA).
Roberts was a product of the Chester City Academy and played 81 times for the first team between 2007 and 2010.
Joint Boss Anthony Johnson had this to say: “It is frightening to think that a lad who played for Chester City is about to embark on his third season with us and is still only 31.
“Kev is a machine. He’s an example setter and someone the rest of the changing room look up to.
“He is one of the best one on one defenders we’ve ever worked with and has also played a huge role in Jamie Morgan’s progression.
“I’ll say it quietly so I don’t embarrass him (he’s taken a pay cut to stay). He’s everything you want in a player, in a defender and in a man.”
Great to have you staying on board, Kev!
Kevin Roberts is signed up for 2021/22, will you be joining him?
