A tricky test awaits the Blues this afternoon at the Brewery Field – as fellow promotion contenders Spennymoor Town welcome Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s side.

The Blues need to bounce back after last Saturday’s home defeat to Curzon Ashton. Injuries depleting the squad, they took one point from a possible six against Guiseley and the Nash. Striker George Waring arrived yesterday afternoon following his release from Tranmere Rovers, and could come straight into the side. Scott Burton made an appearance on the bench seven days ago and moves back into contention. However the pairing of Gary Roberts and Sean McAllister have looked impressive in the last two.

Spennymoor Town sit two points and three places above the 7th placed Blues. They’ve won their last two – at home to Kidderminster and away to Darlington – both 2-1.
