MATCH PREVIEW | Chester vs Bradford PA

35 days would have passed by tomorrow…but finally football is back at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Almost one month ago flood damage to vital infrastructure caused the postponement of several home fixtures – but work and graft has been seen day and night at the Swansway to get to this point. Football returns tomorrow!

Since that home game the Blues have had four away games with a mixed bag of results. After back to back defeats, the point at Guiseley last weekend was a welcome result.

Jon Moran’s 93rd minute looping header almost made it feel like a win, and the Blues will be looking to use this as momentum going into tomorrow’s tough National League North fixture.

Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s side was hampered by injury last weekend – and they will still have fitness issues with some players going into this encounter. Gary Roberts completes the last game of his suspension tomorrow, whilst the management duo will be hoping for speedy returns for last weekends absentees: Danny Livesey, John Pritchard and Matty Waters. George Green may be available for selection soon – as will Deane Smalley who is now internationally cleared but picked up a knock in training.

Bradford Park Avenue sit third in the table with just one defeat from their opening eight games. Their defeat in August came at Leamington – and they are now five games unbeaten. However, a 2-2 draw at FC United was a disappointing result considering the oppositions league standing and also that they held a two goal lead after an hour.
