Junior football teams are invited to be part of The Big Club Giveaway when Chester FC face Maidenhead United this weekend.
The game on Saturday September 23rd will feature a half-time parade around the pitch with teams encouraged to wear their kits, bring banners and make lots of noise to promote their club and create a buzz at the Swansway Chester Stadium.
Pre-game youngsters will have the opportunity to meet Lupus, the Club’s mascot, and players for photographs and autographs before cheering on the Blues against the Magpies.
Last seasons hundreds of children took part in community parades and this promises to be another day to remember for young footballers, showcasing the fantastic work of junior football clubs in the area.
Jim Green, chief executive of Chester FC Community Trust, said: “The response to these initiatives last season was tremendous and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate junior football locally.
“The youngsters get a real thrill out of parading around the pitch with the fans applauding them and events like these help us to build links with our community clubs, which is a key focus for us.”
Admission for a coach and a team of 11 children is just £30. Unlimited extra children can be added at £3 each and parents, grandparents, family and friends can come along and join the fun at £10 each.
