Tom Shaw joined the club in 2015 from Alfreton Town. The Nottingham born centre midfielder started off his career in the Youth Academy at Nottingham Forest, before joining the Youth team at Rushden & Diamonds in 2002. He then went on to progress through the ranks there before making 53 appearances for the Diamonds, scoring 2 goals. Tom then joined Tamworth in 2008, where he featured 62 times scoring 3 goals for the Lambs. Tow yearss later, Tom joined Kidderminster Harriers where he racked up 42 appearances scoring 5 goals during his spell there. Cambridge United then acquired his services in 2011 where he made 79 appearances scoring 13 goals before a further move to Alfreton Town took place in 2013 where he recorded 83 appearances and scoring 15 goals from midfield, which alerted Steve Burr to his signature for the Blues. Shaw has also made 2 appearances for the England C team. Last season, Tom made 43 appearances – scoring eight goals. In May 2017, he was appointed as Chester’s Assistant Manager.
