Bob Marsden takes up the role...

Chester FC are delighted to confirm the appointment of a new voluntary Disability Liaison Officer (DLO).

Bob Marsden, who has been a Chester FC supporter for over 50 years, would like to "give something back to the club”.

Bob recently retired from teaching, having spent the last 18 years as part of the Senior Management Team at Sandfield Park School in Liverpool. Sandfield Park provides full time education for students 11-19 with a Physical Disability. Apart from the Sandfield site there is a further wing at Alder Hey Hospital with provision for home/school tutoring.

The school has a very vibrant PE Department and although Bob was Head of Mathematics, he was also involved in much of the sport such as football, athletics and golf.

Bob will be working closely with Club CEO Mark Maguire, The Inclusive Blues and the CFU Board to improve the match day experience for our disabled fans and to improve communications between these groups.

CFU Chair, Alan Povey, added: "I am delighted to welcome Bob on board as our new DLO here at Chester Football Club.

"He has vast amounts of experience in helping people with disabilities and this is the latest step in ensuring the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium is inclusive for all. I would also like to thank fellow CFU Director, Anne Salmon, for her help in recruiting Bob."

Welcome to the volunteer army, Bob!
