Chester 1 Bromley 1

Chester shared the spoils on a sunny afternoon against Bromley at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Ross Hannah's goal in the first half was cancelled out by Moses Emmanuel's strike in the 53rd minute.

The Blues, looking to bounce back from Sunday’s defeat to Tranmere, had the first chance of the afternoon as James Alabi blasted over after being teed up by Lloyd.

Chester seemed up for it – Danny O’Brien’s promising run saw his cross cleared out to Sam Hughes; who shot straight at Julian following a one-two with Chapell.

It was a quiet start but the hosts did show promising signs; and then they took the lead on 16 minutes.

Chapell released O’Brien down the right and his first time ball fed Ross Hannah who kept his composure brilliantly; dancing past Swaine and rounding up the keeper before slotting home.

Bromley did respond well though, having some good pressure immediately following the goal; before Emmanuel’s deflected shot off Heneghan was grabbed by Thompson as it flew goalwards.

Danny O’Brien industrious work rate down the right wing was causing Bromley all sorts of problems – his next cross from the flank just evaded Ryan Lloyd in the middle.

Another chance then went begging for Emmanuel, who was found by Coombes once more; but he stabbed wide in acres of space inside the box.

Hannah had his 20th of the season, and he somehow failed to make it 21 in all competitions on 33 minutes.

Chapell hooked a corner back into the area which Ryan Astles did well to flick on – Hannah found the touch just six yards out but somehow skewed it wide of the post.

After the break the Blues had a huge shout for a penalty turned down after Hannah was hauled down; before the visitors got themselves level on 53 minutes.

Moses Emmanuel’s shot beat Thompson and was heading towards the net – before Rob Swaine made sure of it by smashing it home.

Johnny Hunt then should have put the Blues back in front when he was played in by Lloyd – but his shot was blocked after it beat the keeper.

Emmanuel was causing problems at the other end though; his clever lob over Thompson dropped just wide of the far post.

Moments later it was another audacious lob that almost brought a Bromley goal as Cunnington tried his luck – but the ball fell just over the bar and onto the roof of the net.

Sam Hughes’ flick on from a Ryan Higgins long throw then caused problems inside the box as Hannah’s hooked effort was saved; before sub Nyal Bell’s shot flashed just wide of the far post.

Bradley Goldberg’s strong run then caused the Blues problems – but his shot went beyond the post.
