Chester 1 Cheltenham 1

Chester maintained their unbeaten start to the National League season with a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Ross Hannah gave Chester the lead early in the game with Storer's effort in the second half levelling the score.

The Blues took the lead in the eighth minute - following new summer signing Hannah.

Luke George won the ball in midfield before finding Hannah, who took on two Robins defenders before striking home with a curling left footed strike.

Chester were on top of the game following taking the lead and had a great chance to double their lead minutes later.

With their tails up, the Blues exchanged some great passes in midfield before Chapell fed in a cross for the on running Hunt who failed to connect with the cross.

The Blues were arguably running riot with the amount of possession and opportunities they had, and they had another significant chance on the half hour mark.

Right back Ryan Higgins bursted through from his defensive position to fire a 25 yard shot towards goal, but his deflected shot was pushed behind by Phillips.

Cheltenham then caught Chester on the break - Amari Morgan-Smith nodded down a cross from Danny Wright - but Billy Waters hooked the ball over the crossbar from just six yards out.

Nevertheless, the Blues would concede their first goal of the National League season early in the second half.

Jon Wornsop misjudged a high ball into the box - allowing Kyle Storer to equalise from close range.

Despite Cheltenham being the fastest out of the blocks in the second half, Blues striker Hannah almost restored the advantage - only to see his rasping volley brilliantly clawed round the post by Phillips.

Jack Barthram stuck the crossbar for the Robins late on, but the Blues claimed their second draw in the space of of four days.
