MATCH PREVIEW | Darlington vs Chester

MATCH PREVIEW | Darlington vs Chester

The Blues will look to put right their away day troubles tomorrow – with a long trip to the North East to face Darlington in the National League North.

Chester lost their 9th away match of the season at Altrincham last time on the road – conceding four second half goals and losing Scott Burton to a red card.

The Club Captain Burton is back from suspension tomorrow, as is George Green who has now served a four match ban. Ben McKenna got off the mark for the club last Saturday in a 1-1 draw with Leamington at the Swansway Chester Stadium. Akwasi Asante returned from injury to play more than an hour as he gets back towards full fitness.

Asante has a ‘perfect’ record against Darlington. He made his Blues debut at the Deva in December and marked it in style. Scoring with his left foot, right foot and head to win the game 3-1 for Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s side.

Darlington haven’t won in five, and will see this as a big game to ensure their survival. They are looking over their shoulder just seven points clear of safety – although with games running out they are expected to lock in another season in the National League North. Tommy Wright’s side will be hoping to stop the Blues, who can get their Play-Off ambitions back on track with a win tomorrow afternoon.

Please note, there is a precautionary 9am pitch inspection tomorrow.
